The Steam Tyrann is a variant model zoid based on the Berserk Fury chassis. In many ways, it is considered more primitive, a kind of 'analogue' level technology compared to the Fury's 'digital'. But these low level systems serve a function. The Steam Tyrann is easier to repair and maintain on the battlefield as it does not require the sophisticated maintenance that the Berserk Fury does. It is also hardier with heavier, thicker armour. Damage that may render a Berserk Fury inoperable can often be ignored by a Steam Tyrann. The armour, a complex blend of copper, brass and bronze layered paneling, can absorb and redirect energy attacks to power it's own weaponry. The 'analogue' tech involved in the Steam Tyrann produces less electrical signatures, allowing the Tyrann to remain hidden from detection, for longer. This 'low level development' does come with drawbacks. The weight of a Steam Tyrann is greater than a Berserk Fury, making it slower and not as maneuverable.
Offensively, the Steam Tyrann maintains many of the basic Berserk Fury weaponry, although the Fury's Buster Claws have been adapted to a new Tesla Blade configuration. Capable of firing a lance of energy at enemy zoids, the Tesla Blades also make for useful close combat weaponry, clubbing into opposition zoids with force.
