Down In The Park

The lush grass felt so soft underfoot as Molly ran around. She giggled, watching the ball bounce as Merrick kicked it up high and then used his head to knock it back to her. Molly stopped the ball with her foot and smiled.
"Ok," Merrick said, encouraging her with an big grin. "I want you to kick it up as high as you can. Just make sure you get your foot right underneath the ball."
molly nodded. She stepped back a bit and ran in. At the last second, she dug her foot down and under the ball, scooping it upwards. The ball sailed high and she clapped happily.
"I did it!"
Merrick chuckled and caught the ball on his chest, letting it run down to rest at his feet.
"Well done, Molly," he said. "Great job."
Molly blushed at the praise, her dress fluttering in the gentle breeze. The rest of the day went by quickly with Merrick and Molly having all the fun in the world until it was time to go home. The young girl was tired. Merrick smiled warmly as he picked her up in his arms to carry her. Molly was a fast learner, and Merrick couldn't have been more proud of her...
